Named among the Top 20 Women to Watch in both Luxury and in Business Disruption, Florence Shaffer is a Technology Executive who has led digital transformation for notable brands globally. Florence’s work sits at the intersection of technology innovation, design, and people. Her 20 years of experience spans multiple industries and cultures – including beauty (Estée Lauder Companies), luxury fashion (Burberry), automotive (BMW), film (Lucasfilm), healthcare (Possible), and hospitality/food (Le Cordon Bleu, Alinea) – in New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, the SF Bay Area, Nepal, Paris, and Chicago respectively. Florence led Strategy & Operations at Matterport, the leading company digitizing the physical world to make it more accessible as our digital and physical worlds continue to intertwine. At Estee Lauder Companies, Florence held the dual position of Global Vice President of Technology Strategy & Operations and Chief of Staff to the CIO. She led tech strategy, innovation and digital transformation globally. In addition she ran operations for the Office of the CIO, leading the teams responsible for portfolio execution, vendor management, and employee culture. At Burberry Florence served as the Director of Technology for the Americas region, where she drove business growth through digital innovation and transformation. Prior to this role, Florence led Digital Technology in Burberry’s APAC region, where she was responsible for designing and implementing localized technology solutions to grow business and drive customer loyalty in China, Korea, and Japan. Florence’s interest in growth through digital transformation goes beyond companies and into individual and societal evolution. Her current work is focused in health & wellness with the desire to make people’s every day lives easier and more fulfilled. She is currently at Pay It Forward’s Private Equity arm working to optimize, grow and scale up health clinics focused on pain management and preventative measures to improve longevity. She also recently founded Becoming Co, an integrated wellness solution for mental & emotional health. In her personal life, Shaffer’s interests mirror her professional pursuits. She enjoys reading about emerging neuroscience concepts, exploring beautiful landscapes both natural and man-made, engaging in sports with enthusiastic participation, and writing poetry. Currently, she is working on scaling these interests using the tech stack invested in by Pancasila. Her work illustrates her commitment to not just improving business performance through technology but also enhancing everyday life and society as a whole.
